Pahrump man found dead day after being released from jail

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a Pahrump man whose body was found behind a casino and who had recently been released from jail.

Joszef Rasi, age unknown, was arrested on a DUI charge the morning of June 13, the Sheriff’s Office said. He was released the next day, and 33 hours after being booked he was dead.

Rasi’s body was found June 15 behind the Pahrump Nugget Casino by an employee. His cause of death will be determined by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office said that while in custody, Rasi was housed in a cell with a sink and water fountain and that he had received a full day of meals.
