Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred near state routes 160 and 372 around 11 a.m. in Pahrump.

The deputy was stopped on his motorcycle on the east sidewalk when he activated his lights and sirens and entered the intersection, where he was struck by a vehicle. Stuenkel said the deputy was flown to UMC with serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries.
