Helicopter transporting injured 11-year-old to hospital

An injured 11-year-old girl is being transported to the hospital by helicopter from a youth camp on Mount Charleston Saturday afternoon.

The girl’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Clark County Fire Department Chief Jon Klassen said. He could not discuss the specifics of her condition, citing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The call came in about 11:30 at Camp Lee Canyon, 6201 Lee Canyon Road, near the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort.

Klassen said the girl will be transported to University Medical Center.
