District attorney in Northern Nevada died in a car crash, police say

ELKO — Police say a district attorney in Northern Nevada has died in a car crash.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports that that 64-year-old District Attorney Mark Torvinen died Monday. Police Chief Ben Reed says Torvinen’s vehicle crashed into the Pioneer Urgent Care building in Elko and employees in the clinic found him unresponsive.

Reed says Torvinen was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead. He says the cause of death hasn’t been determined but there is no indication of foul play.
