Woman who died in mobile home fire identified

A woman found dead in a Las Vegas mobile home Wednesday by firefighters was identified Thursday by the Clark County coroner’s office as 55-year-old Jo Ann Meier of Las Vegas.

The coroner had not determined the cause and manner of Meier’s death.

Firefighters responded about 3 p.m. to a single-wide home at the Desert Inn Mobile Estates, 3578 Fort McHenry Drive.

A neighbor smelled smoked and alerted the firefighters when no one responded to knocks at the door. The fire was out by the time firefighters arrived.

Las Vegas police said Wednesday afternoon there was no sign of foul play.
