Woman who died after colliding with bus identified

The woman who died after her vehicle hit a Regional Transportation Center Deuce bus on Monday has been identified as 23-year-old Julia Schultz, according to Clark County coroner’s office officials.

Schultz crashed into the back of the stopped bus while traveling east on Charleston Boulevard near Rainbow Boulevard. There were conflicting witness reports on whether the woman was ejected from her car or whether she opened the door and fell out, Las Vegas police officer Laura Meltzer said.

Schultz was transported to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Five passengers from the bus were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, police said.

This was the 14th traffic related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2013.
