Woman found dead behind east valley business

A woman was found dead next to a garbage bin behind an east valley business Saturday, Las Vegas police said.

An employee of the business in the 3300 block of Nellis Boulevard, near Desert Inn Road, found the woman about 5:57 a.m. Police said she suffered from neck trauma, and did not have any stab or gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene by responding personnel.

The investigation shows that the woman was behind the business when she was approached and attacked, police said. The attacker fled the scene before police arrived.

No one had been arrested as of 6 p.m., police said.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the woman’s name and cause of death after notifying next of kin.

This is Metro’s second homicide for 2015.
