Woman dies after being found on southwest valley road

A woman who might have been involved in a domestic-related incident died after being found injured on a roadway in the southwest valley, Las Vegas police said Sunday night.

Her identity was not released.

Lt. Mark Reddon said police found the woman, who had suffered head and internal injuries, at 5:38 p.m. near Decatur Boulevard and Twain Avenue. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she died shortly after 7 p.m., he said.

Reddon said initially witnesses reported the woman being injured and a man in a pickup driving away. The woman and the driver had been arguing, they told police.

Reddon said the woman and the man appeared to have known each other, but the circumstances of how the she suffered her injuries were unknown.

The Police Department’s Homicide Section took over the investigation Sunday night.
