Water district workers hurt in stolen car crash; woman arrested

A woman in a stolen car crashed into a construction site, injuring two workers at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue Thursday morning, Las Vegas police said.

The two Las Vegas Valley Water District employees were taken to University Medical Center with several broken bones after the woman crashed a Honda sedan into them and a work truck about 3:40 a.m.

Police say the woman was fleeing from officers trying to stop her for driving on the wrong side of the road and failing to stop at a stop sign just before the crash. They did not provide further details on the stolen car.

She also was taken to UMC and has been booked in absentia for driving under the influence of alcohol.
