Warm weather and a chance for rain Sunday
September 11, 2015 - 8:44 pm
Warm weather is expected across the valley, with a chance for rain this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
It’s been a dry heat the past couple of days and Friday was about 10 degrees above normal, the weather service said. The valley saw a high of 105 degrees and a low of 83.
Some smoke that had drifted into the valley from a Utah wildfire overnight may be visible across the valley due to light winds and high pressure. But it’s not enough to issue an air quality advisory and it should be clearing out, Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said.
Saturday will be another sunny day with a 104-degree high and an 85-degree low, just before big changes happen, meteorologist Justin Pullin said.
Remnants of Hurricane Linda, which has now been downgraded to a tropical storm, will bring a 40 percent chance of rain on Sunday.
Sunday’s high is expected to be in the mid-90s, marking a cool down into the low 90s.
