Las Vegas police are investigating a crash in the east valley that left a bicyclist critically injured Saturday evening.

A car hit the bicyclist about 5:19 p.m. at Indios Avenue and Mountain Vista Street, near Boulder Highway and Twain Avenue, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Dustin Butler.

Three bicyclists were traveling north on Mountain Vista, crossing Indios, when one was struck by the Dodge. The release says the Dodge failed to stop at the stop sign, struck the bicyclist, and continued into the brick wall on the west side of the roadway.

The bicyclist was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries..

The driver of the Dodge, who also was taken to to Sunrise Hospital, was suspected of being impaired and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, the release said.

Metro’s Collision Investigation Section is continuing to investigate the crash.
