Vegas stabbing leads to death; suspect arrested

An altercation led to a man’s death in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday morning, police said.

Police were called to the Alpine Motel on the 200 block of Ninth Street shortly after 9 a.m. They found a man bleeding “profusely” with an apparent stab wound in the leg, Lt. James Mizusaki said.

Timothy Stall, 22, was taken into custody near the scene, according to a Metro statement.

Police said Stall threw a large piece of broken glass at the victim after the altercation between him and Stall in the hallway of the motel. The glass punctured the victim’s leg.

Alpine Motel manager Adolfo Orozco said Stall and the victim were staying in the same room of the motel and were believed to be uncle and nephew, though Metro had not confirmed their relationship Saturday night.

Stall was booked Saturday on charges of murder with use of a deadly weapon.

The victim died at University Medical Center. His identity wasn’t immediately released.
