Two die in single-car accident

Two people were killed Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash.

Las Vegas police said the accident happened about 11 p.m. on Oakey Boulevard near Fremont Street when a 1990 Chrysler Fifth Avenue, driven by a 48-year-old male, left the roadway and struck a pole.

The driver and his passenger, an unidentified female, were pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the 18th and 19th death from a traffic accident in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the victims.
