Traffic moving slow on I-15 north after fatal crash near Charleston
July 16, 2014 - 8:12 pm
A person is dead following a Wednesday afternoon nine-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 15, near the Charleston Boulevard exit.
There were few details available Wednesday night, but the crash appeared to begin when a vehicle rolled over. The driver of that vehicle was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jeremie Elliott said.
A couple of hours later, first responders found a body in that same vehicle, Elliott said. Three other passengers from the other vehicles were also transported to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
Traffic on north I-15 kept its slow pace into the evening as lanes remained closed during clean-up. There were 8 passenger cars and 1 semi-trailer involved.
The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the deceased once family has been notified.
