Las Vegas police have arrested a man in connection with a Saturday night homicide in the northeast valley.
Coleman Vaoga, 33, of Las Vegas, faces a charge of murder with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail in connection with the death of Jeffrey Clabaugh, 51. He was arrested Tuesday, police said.
Officers were flagged down to the 4300 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near East Craig Road, about 7:10 p.m. Saturday. They told police there had been a fight in the desert area behind a convenience store.
Police said they found Clabaugh’s body in a bush behind a Green Valley Grocery store, where he had been beaten and hit with a rock.
Las Vegas police also said they had located a passenger in a truck with Vaoga the night Clabaugh died but said she is not considered a suspect in the crime. Police also found the truck.
Vaoga is set to appear in court Thursday morning.
