Red Flag combat training exercises to increase air traffic

Officials say Southern Nevada residents will see an increase in military flights for the next three weeks while Nellis Air Force Base conducts Red Flag combat training exercises.

The 414th Combat Training Squadron is responsible for the event, with Air Force units from bases in nine states and forces from the United Kingdom and Australia.

For the first two weeks, more than 80 aircraft are scheduled to depart Nellis about 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.

The week of March 7-11, launches will be about 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
