Quick CPR procedure saves boy pulled ‘lifeless’ from Jacuzzi

A woman is credited with saving the life of a 2-year-old boy Thursday afternoon after he was pulled from a Jacuzzi, the Las Vegas Fire Department said.

According to fire officials, the incident occurred about 5:45 p.m. at a condominium complex near Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue.

The toddler was with four other children and his grandmother when he slipped into 3 feet of water in the Jacuzzi.

When the grandmother pulled the toddler out, he was “limp” and “lifeless.” Neighbor Heidi Baber immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the boy expelled water through his nose and mouth.

Officials with the Las Vegas police and the Fire Department determined what happened was an accident.
