Police: Man struck by a car in Sept. died a week later

A 73-year-old man struck by a car in September in the southeast valley died about a week later, Las Vegas police announced Monday.

Andrew Green, of Las Vegas, was hit by a car about 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 18 while walking outside a marked crosswalk on Nellis Boulevard near Twain Avenue. It was initially reported that Green suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, but he died from his injuries Sept. 27 in hospice care, police said.

The driver waited for officers to arrive and faces no charges, police said.

This was Metro’s 82nd traffic-related fatality for 2014. The crash remains under investigation.
