Police investigating death in southwest valley
A man was found dead near Russell Road and Torrey Pines Drive early Saturday morning, Las Vegas police said.
The death is the result of a battery, but police did not provide additional details. It appears a weapon was not involved.
The suspect, a white male in his 30s, was at the scene in the 6300 block of Dewey Drive when officers arrived about 3 a.m., but he was not arrested, police said. Preliminary reports did not indicate why the suspect was not taken into custody, and the incident remains under investigation.
