Updated January 14, 2025 - 3:41 pm

A collision involving a Ford F-150 pickup and a 2006 Toyota Matrix killed a 71-year-old woman early Tuesday in the southeast valley, according to police.

The 7:41 a.m. crash occurred on East Warm Springs Road east of Burnham Avenue at a private drive, according to a preliminary crash report by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The Toyota was southbound on the private drive and collided with the Ford as the Toyota exited onto Warm Springs. The two vehicles came to a stop in the road, still in contact.

A woman driving the Toyota was taken to Sunrise Medical Center and died from her injuries. The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim as well as the and cause and manner of death after relatives have been notified.

The death was the fifth traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.

The collision remains under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
