Pedestrian killed in crash on I-15 exit ramp

A man was struck and killed Saturday morning on Interstate 15 in central Las Vegas, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The crash, involving a Chevrolet Trailblazer and “several other vehicles,” happened about 5:30 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-15 near the Sahara Avenue on-ramp, the Highway Patrol said. Investigators believe a man was crossing the northbound lanes of I-15 over Sahara when he “stepped directly in the path” of the Chevrolet.

The man was struck by the Chevrolet and “several other motor vehicles traveling northbound,” the Highway Patrol said. He died at the scene.

He will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The Sahara northbound on ramp was closed, along with a portion of I-15, while troopers investigate, the Highway Patrol said.

Further information was not immediately available.
