Pedestrian hit by car Saturday has died

A pedestrian who was hit by a car while crossing a west valley street Saturday died the next day, the Clark County coroner’s office said Thursday.

Steven Marks, 46, of Las Vegas, and Elizabeth Evan, 48, were crossing Sahara Avenue near a marked crosswalk about 10 feet from the intersection at Arville Street, police said.

A 1996 Taurus driven by a 22-year-old woman hit them, Las Vegas police said.

Marks and Evan were taken to University Medical Center, police said. Marks, who was critically injured, died on Sunday from a blunt head injury. The cause of death is accidental, the coroner said.

Evan survived with moderate injuries.

Police have not issued any citations in connection with the crash.
