Operation Trick-or-Treat nets 21 arrests in Nevada

Authorities arrested 21 fugitives, including 14 related to sex offenses, this week in Nevada’s fifth annual Operation Trick-or-Treat.

The five-day effort leading up to Halloween weekend was aimed at making neighborhoods safer for children trick-or-treating this holiday.

The joint operation, a partnership of 35 officers from 11 city, county, state and federal agencies, conducted checks on sex offenders suspected of being out of compliance with registration rules, according to Nevada Child Seekers, which assisted the task force.

Of the more than 100 compliance checks, 90 percent of offenders were compliant. The appropriate agencies were notified of offenders located outside Nevada, the task force said.
