One driver dies in I-15 collision of two tractor-trailers

An accident Wednesday involving two tractor-trailers left one driver dead and snarled traffic on Interstate 15.
The crash happened about 10 a.m., according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The two tractor-trailers were heading north when one truck rear-ended the slower-moving semi-truck about five miles north of Jean.
Witnesses said the truck in front was traveling about 35 mph when it was struck, though Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott said that is not uncommon for trucks in the right lane.
The driver in front, a 61-year-old Florida man carrying a load of potatoes, was not injured.
Officials haven’t determined the age and hometown of the man who was killed. He was pulling a load of wooden pallets.
Two of the three northbound lanes were closed during cleanup.
