North Las Vegas toddler drowns in backyard pool
A North Las Vegas boy drowned in a backyard swimming pool Monday.
Police said the 23-month-old boy, who was not immediately identified, was found in the pool about 10:45 a.m. in the 2900 block of Bassler Street, near Cheyenne Avenue east of Civic Center Drive.
The boy died at North Vista Hospital.
Police said the child lived at the home and was under the care of a family member. The family member lost sight of the toddler for a few moments and then found him in the backyard swimming pool.
No charges had been filed in the case as of late Monday afternoon. The incident is under investigation.
