Motorcyclist hospitalized after northwest valley crash

A man was hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday afternoon after a motorcycle crash in the northwest valley, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded at 3:21 p.m. to the motorcycle-versus-vehicle collision on eastbound Cheyenne Avenue, just west of North Tenaya Way, according to Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

The motorcyclist was transported to University Medical Center with “pretty severe lower body injuries,” Meltzer said.

Injuries to the man’s hand and leg were “major,” but not life-threatening, Metro spokesman Lt. Mark Reddon said Tuesday evening. The driver of the other vehicle, a silver Isuzu Rodeo, was not injured.

Police believe the motorcyclist may have been drinking before the crash, Reddon said.
