Moped crash sends one to hospital, closes Charleston

A crash between a moped and a car hospitalized one and closed Charleston Boulevard in the central valley Friday evening, Las Vegas police said.

The moped rider was in stable condition at University Medical Center, Metro Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.

Medical personnel and police were called to the crash at westbound Charleston and southbound Martin Luther King boulevards about 5 p.m., Yatomi said.

Eastbound Charleston from Martin Luther King to Shadow lane is expected to reopen about 7 p.m., Yatomi said.
