Mobster’s grandson joins Las Vegas Mob Experience

Another member of the Giancana family has joined the Las Vegas Mob Experience, replacing Antoinette Giancana McDonnell, who was released from her consulting role last week.

Carl Manno, McDonnell’s son and grandson of famed Mafia figure Sam Giancana, is now a consultant for the attraction at the Tropicana. Is it scheduled to open Tuesday.

Murder Inc., the parent company of the Mob Experience, spoke harshly about McDonnell in a prepared statement, saying she was resentful that the families of other well-known mobsters were part of the show.

“She wanted this attraction to be the Sam Giancana show, with her as the spokesman and shining star,” said managing partner Jay Bloom.

The release also states relations between Manno and his mother are strained.

McDonnell’s lawyer, Ihab T. Omar, said the fault is with Bloom.

“The real reason we’re in this situation is Jay Bloom didn’t pay her,” he said. “That’s the bottom line.”

He’s representing her in a lawsuit against Murder Inc. alleging fraud and breach of contract, among other claims, involving her consulting contract and the sale of some of her father’s possessions to the company.

Giancana was a power in Chicago organized crime in the 1940s and ’50s. Later, he became an FBI witness, and in 1975 he was assassinated in his home.
