McCarran loses power briefly overnight

McCarran International Airport briefly lost power Tuesday morning, but no delays or disturbances were reported, officials said. Spokesman Chris Jones said the outage happened from 12:40 a.m. to 1:39 a.m.

A backup generator provided basic emergency lighting, he said.

No problems were reported at the control tower. “At that time of night, there are very few flights,” Jones said.

Other homes and businesses in the area also reported a brief loss in power.
