Man who died after Saturday traffic accident identified

The man who died after a traffic accident Saturday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Mark Eugene Douglass, 54, was driving a 2000 Lexus west on Cheyenne Avenue about 8:30 a.m. After dropping off a passenger, Susan Douglass, on Michael Way, he sped off suddenly.

The car crossed over the median into on coming traffic before striking two light poles, according to Las Vegas police.

He was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death has not yet been released by the coroner’s office.
