Man killed in head-on collision

A man was killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision near the Strip.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Joseph Fackrell said the man was driving a Toyota Camry east while in the westbound lane of the Russell Road bridge over Interstate 15.

The Camry collided with a Scion at 2:51 a.m., Fackrell said.

The driver of the Camry, a man in his early 30s, was transported to University Medial Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Scion was also transported to UMC. His injuries were not life-threatening, Fackrell said.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash. The driver of the Camry was not wearing his seatbelt.
