Man found in Strip hotel pool dies on way to the hospital

A man died from what appeared to be drowning at an Imperial Palace hotel pool Wednesday evening, Las Vegas police said Thursday.

Police spokesman Jacinto Rivera said the incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. He said the unconscious man was found in the pool, and died while being transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Rivera said the death appeared to be accidental. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
