Man dies when pickup truck rolls over Saturday night

A 36-year-old Las Vegas man died Saturday evening after his pickup veered off the north side of Sunset Road and rolled over, ejecting him from the cab, according to Las Vegas police.

Police said the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of the family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram west of Hinson Street in the southwest valley about 7:35 p.m. when it left the roadway and crashed through a chain-link fence and into a desert area. The accident, which is the third fatality this year in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction, is under investigation.
