A 72-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after he was struck by a vehicle downtown.

The man, who was not identified, was crossing Charleston Boulevard near Shadow Lane about 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe driven by Laura M. Nelson, 65.

The man was not in a marked crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Las Vegas police said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
