Las Vegas Urban League hires new CEO

After a yearlong search, the Las Vegas Urban League has appointed Kevin E. Hooks as its new CEO.

Hooks helped found the National Urban League Young Professionals auxiliary group, and was one of the youngest members of the National Board of Trustees for the Urban League.

“The role of CEO is very critical to our success and our future,” said Rev. Donald Chaney, Chairman of the Board. “Therefore, we were thorough and inclusive in finding the best candidate to take us to the next level.”

“I am excited and humbled by this appointment,” said Hooks, who has been a member of the Urban League family for over 20 years. “I look forward to serving the Las Vegas-Clark County community.”

The Las Vegas Urban League is a non-profit founded in 2004 that helps provide equal opportunities for low-income people.
