Las Vegas police seek driver who hit bicyclist, took off

Las Vegas police on Thursday morning were looking for a driver and a car involved in a crash that sent a bicyclist to a valley hospital.

It happened in the intersection of Alta Drive at Valley View Boulevard intersection about 10:30 a.m. The bicyclist was struck by a silver sedan, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

The driver of that vehicle, which is described as possibly being a two-door Honda, took off, Meltzer said.

An officer on the scene said that the vehicle was heading north on Valley View.

The bicyclist, whose head was bleeding, was taken to University Medical Center with injuries police said were not life-threatening.
