Las Vegas police: Drive-by shooter was in dark-colored vehicle
September 22, 2014 - 12:04 pm
Las Vegas police are looking for clues in the fatal drive-by shooting of a juvenile over the weekend.
The young man — described only as a male juvenile — died after someone in the dark-colored vehicle pulled up to a vehicle he was in and opened fire Sunday near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, police said. The dark-colored vehicle took off after shots were fired.
The juvenile who died was with four others waiting at a red light when the shooting happened, police said. That vehicle proceeded to the nearby 5200 block of Stampa Avenue where someone called police about 7:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they found the shot juvenile lying in a driveway. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died.
Metro Lt. Craig Klatt said Sunday that his agency thinks the vehicle was targeted. Multiple people were also in the dark-colored vehicle.
