Las Vegas police arrest airline passenger after threat

A plane en route to Los Angeles returned to Las Vegas after a man on board made a bomb threat Saturday, authorities said.

Las Vegas police took the passenger into custody after Spirit Flight 245 landed at McCarran International Airport around 5:30 p.m. His name was not immediately released.

Airport spokesman Glenn Gardener said authorities were investigating the suspect. Gardener did not know the specifics of the alleged threat.

Authorities searched the Spirit aircraft and cleared it later Saturday.

Gardener said the other passengers were flown to Los Angeles International Airport on a different plane.
