Henderson Doggie Paddle coming up

The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Doggie Paddle & Play Day on Sept. 15 at Black Mountain Aquatic Complex, 599 Greenway Road.

Dogs weighing 40 pounds or less will swim from 9 to 10:15 a.m., dogs weighing 41 to 79 pounds will swim from
10:30 to 11:45 a.m., and dogs weighing more than 80 pounds will swim from noon to 1:15 p.m. Admission is $10 per dog if registered in advance or $15 at the door if space is available.

Register at cityofhenderson.com/parks with activity number 436702 or in person at any city of Henderson indoor pool or recreation center.

Humans attend for free but may not enter the water. Dogs must be properly licensed and must be leashed when not in the pool area. Black Mountain Aquatic Complex’s graduated entry enables dogs to walk in and out of the water.

The aquatic complex will be drained for cleaning and maintenance after the event and will remain closed until the 2013 summer swim season.
