Free meals offered to children this summer

Several children in Las Vegas won’t go hungry this summer as community organizations partner to provide free summer meals.

The meals will be provided to youth who are 18 and younger through a collaboration between the Three Square Food Bank, the Culinary Academy and the Clark County School District, among others, according to Three Square.

The meals will be provided from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA through Aug. 28. The center is one of three YMCA participating locations. The other two locations include the Durango Hills YMCA facility and the SkyView YMCA location.

The free summer meal program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by Nevada’s Department of Education Office of Child Nutrition and School Health, according to the nonprofit.
