Fatal motorcycle crash closes Desert Inn at Pecos

Desert Inn Road was closed near Pecos Road Monday afternoon after a man died in a motorcycle crash, Las Vegas police said.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Desert Inn when a vehicle turned onto Pecos in front of a motorcycle driving straight through the intersection.

The motorcycle slid several hundred feet on Desert Inn, Lt. Dave Valenta said. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Desert Inn was closed as of 6 p.m. from Pecos to Sandhill Road. Valenta said once the investigation began, the closed section might be expanded.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
