The Smith Center to Host Mariachi Festival

Students from the Clark County School District’s mariachi and ballet folklorico programs are slated to participate in the 2012 Latin Chamber of Commerce Mariachi Festival starting May 22.
Workshops taught by Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle and guests are set for May 22-23 at the ninth annual festival.
Classes are slated to culminate in a concert at 7 p.m. May 24 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave.
Artists to accompany the students on stage are Las Colibri, an all-female group from California, dancers from Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad de Colima and Fox Music USA New Artist Award recipient Melinda.
