Ring in the New Year without a trip to the Strip

Whether you want to party hardy or dance the night away on New Year’s Eve, here is a list of some of the activities planned away from the Strip near your neighborhood.

Keep in mind, most events are reserved for people who are 21 or older.

RED ROCK RESORT

Zowie Bowie featuring Chris Phillips is set to take the stage at Rocks Lounge inside Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd. Doors are set to open at 10 p.m. Admission is $30 at the door.

Dave Ritz is set to perform from 6 to 11 p.m. at T-Bones Chophouse. For more information, call 702-797-7777.

The family-friendly New Year’s Eve Cosmic Party Package at Red Rock Lanes is set for 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. It includes three hours of bowling, shoe rentals, one large single-topping pizza and a pitcher of soft drink.

Enjoy a fun atmosphere with door prizes and colored pin shots, music videos and party favors. The cost is $150 per lane, with a maximum of five people per lane. For reservations, call 702-797-7467.

JW MARRIOTT AND THE RAMPART CASINO

Cool Change is slated to perform from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Addison’s Lounge on the floor of the Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd. For more information, call 702-507-5900.

SUNCOAST

The Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, plans two ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve for the early-risers and the party-all-nighters in its Showroom.

Kelly Clinton’s New Year’s at Noon is slated for noon. Tickets start at $15.95, plus tax and convenience fees. This show is open to all ages.

Vegas Super Band is set to play starting at 10 p.m. Admission is $29.95 and includes party favors, dancing and a champagne toast/balloon drop at midnight. Guests must be 21 or older.

FREMONT STREET

The Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve Celebration is set from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Fremont Street Experience, 425 Fremont St.

Scheduled headliners are Papa Roach, Blues Traveler, Loverboy, Vince Neil and Adelitas Way, in addition to special performances from local bands including Arena, The Blackjacks, Clockwork, Kid Hollywood and Monroy.

The midnight countdown is slated to be led by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, with Fireworks by Grucci producing a virtual fireworks show on Viva Vision.

Admission is $30 when purchased at vegasexperience.com/newyearseve by Dec. 26. After that, tickets will be $40. Admission is restricted to those 21 or older.

The SMITH CENTER

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave., is scheduled to present Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $49. For more information, visit thesmithcenter.com.

THE PALMS

A New Year’s party is planned at Ghostbar inside the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road. Holiday revelers will be treated to complimentary party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Doors are set to open at 8 p.m. Presale tickets are available by calling 702-942-6832 or at palmsnewyears.com.

The Moonshiners plan to perform at The View cocktail bar. Doors are set to open at 7 p.m. A performance by Foxes is slated for Moon nightclub. Both venues are atop the Palms’ Fantasy Tower. The doors at Moon are set to open at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $55 for women and $60 for men.

Starting at $140, tickets for a three-hour hosted bar from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. include cover charge and VIP express admission. New Year’s Eve cover charge allows access to both The View and Moon.

THE ORLEANS

The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave., plans to host a variety of events to ring in the new year. Slated events include:

Disco Inferno with Wonder Boogie from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Mardi Gras Ballroom. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, a champagne toast and party favors. All-

Latin Vida is set to host a dance party at Bourbon Street Lounge at 9 p.m. Admission is free.

SILVERTON

The Skip The Strip party is planned from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road.

For $20, enjoy bottomless drinks on the casino floor and admission to the Veil Pavilion, which is set to open at 10 p.m. Guests must be 21 or older.

The Lon Bronson All-Star Band is scheduled to perform starting at 10:30 p.m. at Access Showroom inside the Aliante, 7300 Aliante Parkway.

Along with music, the event is expected to have a champagne toast at midnight and party favors.

Tickets cost $25 in advance and $35 at the door.

Inside ETA Lounge, the All that Glitters is Gold party is scheduled to go from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The party is free and includes music, go-go dancers and a champagne toast.

SANTA FE STATION

A free show featuring two disc jockeys is scheduled at the 4949 Lounge inside Santa Fe Station, 4949 N. Rancho Drive. DJ Mariah is set from 6 to 9 p.m. and is slated to be followed by DJ CW from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Rick Duarte is set to perform a free show from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. inside the Race & Sports Book.

A Revolver Party featuring DJ Sinner is set at Revolver Saloon, with doors set to open at 9 p.m. Admission is $25.

The New Year’s Eve Cosmic Carnival is planned for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for East Coast celebrants and 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for West Coast celebrants at Santa Fe Lanes. Bowling, shoe rentals, food and drinks, party favors and a New Year’s toast are included.

Tickets are $30 per person until Dec. 25, after which they are $35 per person, with a maximum of five people per lane.

THE M RESORT

The M Resort, 11230 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve early.

“Because New Year’s Eve falls on a Tuesday, we’re inviting locals to start the party early the weekend before,” said Rina Foster, director of public relations at the M. “We’ll have entertainment and gaming promotions throughout the weekend.”

Foster said there is a special concert planned Dec. 29 leading into New Year’s Eve.

Wes Quave is scheduled to perform at 9:45 p.m. Dec 27 and 28 at Ravello Lounge.

San Fernando Band is slated to play at 9:45 p.m. Dec. 29. Admission is free.

Also Dec. 29, there is expected to be a Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra tribute — featuring a 24-piece orchestra — at 7 p.m. at the M Pavilion. Tickets start at $19.50.

On New Year’s Eve, Hal Savar is slated to be at 32 Degrees Draft Bar and Rhythm Nation is expected to go on at 10 p.m. at Ravello Lounge, which charges $25 for men. Women are admitted free.

The M Resort is also scheduled to have disc jockeys playing at 9 p.m. at M Bar and Hostile Grape.

THE SOUTH POINT

The South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to start the parties at noon with doo-wop group The Alley Cats celebrating early with party favors and a champagne toast. A second performance is planned for 1 p.m. Tickets start at $19.

Tony Orlando and Wes Winters are scheduled to be the headliners starting at 8 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom. Orlando is expected to do the countdown to midnight. Tickets are $179 and include dinner.

The ’80s cover band the Spazmatics are also planning to celebrate starting at 9:30 p.m. at Exhibit Hall B. Tickets are $69 and include party favors, an open bar and a champagne toast.

Rockin’ Motown with Greg Austin is set to kick off the night at 9:30 p.m. inside the showroom. Tickets are $39 and include two drinks, party favors and a champagne toast.

There is also free New Year’s Eve entertainment at the South Point, including Winters from 5 to 7 p.m. and Peace, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll starting at 10:30 at the Grandview Lounge.

Sunset Station

Even before the clock strikes midnight, Sunset Station is inviting people to party until 2014 with bowling deals.

Strike Zone Bowling Center inside Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road, is offering deals from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Tickets are $27 per person until Dec. 27 and $35 after.

The all-ages event includes three hours of bowling and shoe rental along with pizza and soda. A maximum of five people can be in a lane. For more information, call 702-547-7467.

SAM’S TOWN

Two bands are slated to play starting at 4:30 p.m. at Roxy’s Lounge inside Sam’s Town, 5111 Boulder Highway.

State of the Art is expected to kick off the evening followed by In-A-Fect, which is planning to ring in the new year.

EASTSIDE CANNERY

Classic rock band Phoenix is scheduled to play at 9 p.m. inside Marilyn’s Lounge inside the Eastside Cannery, 5255 N. Boulder Highway. The event is free.

TEXAS STATION

Yellow Brick Road is slated to perform from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at South Padre inside Texas Station, 2101 Texas Star Lane in North Las Vegas. Admission is $20.

A Cosmic New Year’s Eve Party is slated at Texas Star Lanes. The East Coast Package is set for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, a large two-topping pizza, a pitcher of soda or beer and glow necklaces.

The cost is $60 per lane for a maximum of five people.

The West Coast Package is set for 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and the cost is $80 per lane, also with a maximum of five people.

Empire Records, a ’90s cover band, is scheduled to play starting at 10:30 p.m. at Vinyl inside the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road.

Also, Juicy J is slated to have a special New Year’s Eve performance starting at 10 p.m. inside the Joint.
