Downtown-area pools scheduled to be open for summer are:

Doolittle Pool, 1950 N. J St., Monday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.;

Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road, Monday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., and Monday through Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.;

Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 6 p.m., beginning June 13;

Daily fees are $1 for swimmers 4 to 17, $2 for swimmers 18 to 49, $1.50 for swimmers 50 or older; and free for children 3 or younger. For more information, visit lasvegasnevada.gov or lasvegasparksandrec.com.

Rugby game set for June 9
at Sunset Park

The Las Vegas Blackjacks are set to divide into two teams for a scrimmage rugby game from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 9 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road. Admission is free and open to the public.

Nevada Desert Mermaids to perform

The Nevada Desert Mermaids synchronized swimming team plans to perform at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive.

The swim event is free for spectators.
