CAREGIVERS TO LEARN ABOUT RESOURCES
AT JULY 9 CLARK COUNTY LIBRARY EVENT

Programs for Caregivers is scheduled at 6 p.m. July 9 at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The program is sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic’s Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and is designed to educate people caring for a loved one with memory loss.

Topics are to include social services, resources and education programs.

WORKSHOP TO HELP CHILDREN
LEARN VOCABULARY

Martha Speaks Mondays, an interactive workshop for children ages 5 to 8 with a parent or guardian, is scheduled from 1 to 1:30 p.m. July 8 at the Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.

Participants will share books and activities to enhance vocabulary using the PBS Kids program “Martha Speaks.”

MOB MUSEUM WINS NATIONAL
HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARD

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, has been named a 2013 Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association.

The museum, 300 Stewart Ave., received the national award in the historic restoration/preservation category for projects costing $25 million to $75 million.

The project’s managing agency, the city of Las Vegas Public Works Department; the primary contractor, APCO Construction; and the primary consultant, Westlake Reed Leskosky; are slated to be recognized at an August award ceremony in Chicago .

The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. July 10 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. July 10 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.

The Enterprise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. July 10 at the Enterp rise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.
