PROM CLOSET SEEKS SHOES, DRESSES
AND JEWELRY TO DISTRIBUTE TO TEENS

The Las Vegas Prom Closet is accepting new and gently used prom dresses, jewelry and dress shoes through March 17 to be distributed March 24 to high school students with a valid ID at HELP of Southern Nevada, 1640 E. Flamingo Road.

Items can be dropped off in the downtown/Paradise areas at the Fashion Show mall concierge desk, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Princesa stores at the Boulevard Mall, 3528 S. Maryland Parkway, and at the Meadows Mall, 4300 Meadows Lane.

Summerlin locations include Best Kept Secret, 1930 Village Center Circle, Suite 4, and the Humana Guidance Center, 8975 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 100.

Items are also to be accepted in Henderson at the Humana Guidance Center, 1000 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 720, and at Dr. Pat Simone’s office, 70 N. Pecos Road.

TALENT SOUGHT FOR GOLDEN RAINBOW’S ‘RIBBON OF LIFE’ FUNDRAISER

The nonprofit Golden Rainbow is accepting talent submissions through March 16 for its 26th annual “Ribbon of Life” fundraiser, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 24 at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave.

Dancers, singers and artists are encouraged to submit auditions through mail, email or in person at the 801 S. Rancho Drive office.

VISION FORUM PLANNED AT SENIOR CENTER

The Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, is slated to host a free vision forum from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, featuring workshops and vendors specializing in assisting those who are visually impaired.

OUTPATIENT DIABETES CLASS
SET FOR WEDNESDAY

Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center plans to host an adult outpatient diabetes class on nutrition from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at 3101 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 100.

The class is free and will give an introduction to the basic dietary needs for those with diabetes. Registration is required.

LOW-COST BREAST CANCER SCREENINGS

Nevada Health Center’s Mammovan is scheduled to offer low- to no-cost breast cancer screenings at selected Food 4 Less locations, thanks to a $10,000 grant from Food 4 Less.

Stops are scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 4965 E. Sahara Ave.; Wednesday and May 1 at 8180 Las Vegas Blvd. South; June 5 and Sept. 4 at 1301 S. Boulder Highway; June 14 at 4001 S. Decatur Blvd.; Aug. 16 at 1955 N. Nellis Blvd.; and Nov. 21 at 2255 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s Club Ride Commuter Services is offering new discounts to enrolled commuters who choose an alternative mode to get to and from work, such as carpooling or taking transit, through its Club Ride Rewards program.
