Best route for bicyclists is erring on the side of caution

Thousands of wheeling wonders around the valley are taking their daily commutes by bicycle. Agencies around Southern Nevada have added avenues to make it easier to incorporate bicycles into a healthy lifestyle, but they want riders to play it safe.

North Las Vegas girl born prematurely, doctors not hopeful

The baby girl weighed less than one pound at birth.
Her eyes were fused shut. Her velvety skin appeared almost transparent. A large breathing tube, too big for her nose and mouth, somehow pumped the necessary oxygen into her tiny lungs as she took her precious first breaths.
Nine days later, she had heart surgery and numerous blood transfusions.

Library district approves increased user fees for meeting, performance spaces

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District recently voted to increase rates for space usage from 19 percent to 100 percent. Groups across the Las Vegas Valley who rely on the district to provide space say the increase will affect how they operate.
