Excerpt from "Beth"
"Three weeks ago, Beth’s car was found in the Colorado River just below Nelson’s Landing. In the car, Daniel, her youngest son, was found dead. Beth’s body was never found. The normal searches were conducted, but along that part of the river, the current is swift. Initially, the cops said the body must have been swept away. At the time I thought it was strange. In the ocean, I could understand a body disappearing, but to me It seemed that in a river, it should have shown up somewhere. The police said, at first, that it must have been an accident. Then they decided it was a murder-suicide. It couldn’t have been an accident."
"Why not?" Mike asked.
"Because at that location, there is no way to accidentally fall in the river…"
