Bryce Walter, 15, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 99, Bryce helped repaint houses in Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest for his Eagle project.

A sophomore at Northwest Career and Technical Academy, Bryce is the son of Mindy and Lee Walter of Las Vegas.

Brian Davis, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 903, Davis is a freshman at Las Vegas Academy and is majoring in theater.

He enjoys camping, hiking, rock climbing and archery.

Davis is the son of Rebecca Davis of Henderson.

Nicholas Thompson, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 903, Thompson is a sophomore at Coronado High School and a member of the bowling team.

He enjoys hunting, camping, riding ATVs and restoring his 1967 RS Camaro .

Thompson is the son of Todd and Suzy Thompson of Henderson.

Matthew Klimek, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 903, Klimek is a freshman at Coronado High School, where he runs cross country. He also enjoys camping and hiking.

Klimek is the son of Mike and Michele Klimek of Henderson.

Jack Heavey, 15, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 903, Jack attends Valley High School’s International Baccalaureate Program.

He plays clarinet and saxophone in the school band and enjoys backpacking, hiking and camping.

Jack is the son of Chris and Nancy Heavey of Henderson.

Samantha Feliciano, 15, of Las Vegas, was selected to participate in the 2011 Miss Jr. Teen Las Vegas Pageant on Oct. 23.

She plans to compete in the Miss Jr. Teen division, which includes competitions in modeling casual and formal wear.

A student at Western High School, Samantha played varsity basketball her freshman year and received a varsity letter. She also plays volleyball and softball and is a member of the Polynesian Club.

Samantha hopes to become a nursing assistant.

She is the daughter of Janine Feliciano and stepdaughter of Reginald Stallworth Sr. of Las Vegas.

John D. Fargas graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

A 2010 graduate of Desert Oasis High School, Fargas is the son of Ernesto Fargas of Las Vegas.

Rocco F. Lapriore has graduated from Army basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

A 2007 graduate of Eldorado High School, Lapriore is the son of Rocco Lapriore Jr. and Angela Lapriore, both of Las Vegas.

Leah Marley of Las Vegas has earned placement on the president’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.

Eric Mehta of Henderson graduated cum laude from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry.

Jordyn Rice of Las Vegas has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Ore.

Michael Rappaport of Henderson has earned placement on the honor roll for the spring 2011 semester at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
