Ava Arcaya participated in the Pretty Little Princess Pageant in Las Vegas April 22 and won "Most Fabulous Face" and "Most Likely to Be a Supermodel."

Ava, a student at Frias Elementary School, is the daughter of Reuben Arcaya and Maribeth Arcaya of Las Vegas.

Alexander Warren, 18, is a past master councilor for the Oasis chapter of DeMolay, an organization for young men ages 12 to 21 to learn leadership skills.

He has been elected deputy state master councilor/future state senior councilor. Warren attends the University of Nevada, Reno, but resides in Las Vegas.

He is the son of Mark and Marilyn Warren.

Chellene Francisco, 11, has become a member of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls in chapter Rainbow Daylite #22 in Las Vegas.

The group teaches leadership, patriotism and service to humanity to young girls.

Chellene, a student at Twitchell Elementary School, is the daughter of Richard and Valentina Keirn of Henderson.

Scott Keirn, 13, has been made junior councilor for the Oasis chapter of DeMolay and has earned a Lamp of Knowledge pin for completing the group’s five leadership courses.

DeMolay is an organization for young men ages 12 to 21 to learn leadership skills.

Scott, a student at Schofield Middle School, is the son of Richard Keirn of Henderson.

Nichole Sammy, 10, is a fourth-grade honors student and dance team member at Dondero Elementary School.

She has been a member of Peer Mediation since third grade and will be a member of the school broadcast studio next year.

Nichole has been awarded a scholarship to the Academy of the Nevada Ballet Theatre. She trains at Westside Academy of the Performing Arts.

Nichole is the daughter of Nicholas and April Sammy of Las Vegas.

Phillip Morton has graduated from basic military training at Naval Station Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., with a rank of E-3.

A 2007 graduate of Lake Mead Christian Academy, Morton is the son of Milton and Constance Morton of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Eric Baber of North Las Vegas has received a Master of Science in operations research degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Samantha Bohn and Armando Ronconi, both of Henderson, have earned placement on the dean’s list at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Bohn is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in sociology.

Ronconi is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in theater arts.

Kelli Massey of Las Vegas has graduated from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga., with a master’s degree in library and information science.

Emilee Wirshing of Henderson graduated magna cum laude in May with a Bachelor of Arts in English from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

Johanna Schwartz of Las Vegas earned placement on the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Mass.

Christine Theisen of Henderson earned a Master of Science in fire protection engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass.
